Therban® HT

The Therban Heat Resistance Technology (HT) grade was designed to provide a high performance elastomer for temperatures above 150 ºC. Therban HT helps provide heat resistance up to 165 ºC, high abrasion resistance, good low-temperature flexibility, good ozone resistance, oil and gasoline resistance and high chemical resistance. The Therban HT grade is used as an improved stabilizer system in both sulfur- and peroxide-cured HNBR compounds.
Due to high swelling properties, it is not recommended for applications where it could come into contact with water or aqueous solutions.
HNBR vulcanizates with Therban HT are ideal for seals, hoses, drive belts and other automotive parts that need to withstand high temperatures in vehicles designed for optimum fuel consumption. Even at 165 ºC, Therban HT enables HNBR to maintain performance for up to 1000 hours. This prolongs service life, provides greater component reliability and helps system suppliers meet ever increasing customer demands.
In mechanical engineering applications, Therban HT can also help HNBR maintain a higher standard of quality in parts exposed to dynamic stress and high temperatures.
Because HNBR vulcanizates with Therban HT retain their properties longer than other elastomers or standard HNBR grades, service life increases and the risk of down-time is reduced.
