A good espresso machine requires pressure: 9-10 atmospheres are necessary to ensure that the flavors fully develop as the hot water is forced through he ground coffee. Only then is the unique and unmistakable taste of the beverage guaranteed.

Thanks to its compliance with food contact regulations (FDA), Therban®, the hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HNBR), can demonstrate its outstanding properties in this application, too. The high-performance rubber resists hot team as well as high pressure without deteriorating. Therban® also copes with the lubricants necessary for the efficient functioning of the machine.
